Disturbed's "The Sound of Silence" Cover Enters "Billboard" Hot 100
Distubed 's cover of "The Sound of Silence" has found its way onto the BillboardHot 100. The metal band's version of the Simon & Garfunkel folk classic debuts at number 88 on the chart, which measures the popularity of singles from all genres.
Simon & Garfunkel's original "The Sound of Silence" peaked at number one on the Hot 100 all the way back in 1966.
Disturbed recorded "The Sound of Silence" for their album Immortalized , which was released in 2015 after the band returned from a four-year hiatus. The album also includes the singles "The Vengeful One" and "The Light."
Disturbed recently wrapped up the first leg of their tour in support of Immortalized, and they'll return to the road next week.

If you plan on seeing Disturbed at any one of their stops in the area this Spring/ Summer… you’ll be able to catch them perform their cover of ‘The Sound of Silence’ live.
The band did not originally intend to release this track as anything more than a bonus song on a deluxe edition of the alum. The song became an instant hit among Disturbed fans who begged the band to put together a video. The next thing you know, the song became so popular that it was released as a single to rock radio where it quickly climbed the charts and is now sitting in the number 1 spot for the 5th week in a row.
Now it is a part of their current tour playlist. There are tons of opportunities to see the band this year but if you can’t make it to any of the dates, you can at least watch last night’s performance on Conan O’Brien.

This is the best rendition of SOS since its release in 1964. A powerful and moving melody and lyrics performed by a first class band. Disturbed and David Draiman performed exceptionally with a tremendous feeling that captivates the audience. The song played at Conan just added to the creativity, mistiness and professionalism of Disturbed.
