Rock and metal concerts aren't always high-energy events with deafening guitar riffs and pyrotechnics. They can also be places of emotional healing. That much is true based on what happened during Disturbed's recent trek through Munich, Germany.
After performing their song "Hold on to Memories", the band brought up a family who had lost a child two years earlier. They told vocalist David Draiman that their songs "Hold on to Memories" and "A Reason to Fight" helped them mourn and come to terms with their loss.
"I can't even possibly imagine what you've been through. I have a son of my own, and I have no idea what I would do," says Draiman. "And the fact that the music that we've created is able to bring you some kind of peace, and some kind of understanding, really makes everything that we do as a band worth while."
