Paul Simon has posted a message on Facebook calling the Disturbed version of his song “Wonderful”.
“In case you missed it, Disturbed did a wonderful rendition of “The Sound of Silence” on Conan this week. The S&G cover also appears on Disturbed’s latest album, Immortalized,” Paul Simon said.
Paul Simon wrote ‘The Sound of Silence’ in 1963 and 1964 and first recording it for Simon & Garfunkel’s debut album ‘Wednesday Morning 3AM’. The album was released in October 1964 and was originally a commercial failure but started to gather airplay in 1965 which led to a remix with electric instruments and a re-release in September 1965. Second time around it went to no 1 on the Billboard chart in January 1966.
Disturbed performed the song on ‘Conan’ on March 28, 2016.
