Watch Mistress Carrie's Full Interview with Disturbed's David Draiman
MARCH 1, 2019
Ever since Disturbed arrived in the mainstream in the early 2000's, they've been an unstoppable force both on their records and at their live concerts. With almost every record going Platinum in the US, the band has evolved and changed their sound and performances since their formation in 1994.
While backstage at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA, Mistress Carrie had the chance to sit down with frontman David Draiman to discuss how the band has changed over the years and why they are most proud of their current state. "I think we really are hitting our stride," says Draiman. "You're always perfecting your craft over the course of your career and you're always, hopefully evolving and I really feel that this is the incarnation we are most proud of so far."
"I can very confidently say that it is the most unique, and for us and for the fans, probably the most rewarding live experience for Disturbed that we've been able to come up with."
When asked about how he handles all of the compliments from people that are hugely impressed by his singing voice, "It's not perfect on any given night, but I find that it's more important to... be human." Draiman later adds his thoughts on why sounding perfect sort of ruins the live experience. "I think that the slight differences, the nuances, the little elements of imperfection show emotion. They show variety. They show reality. It makes it a more tangible experience."
